Our Dream come true
Who We Are
We drive a fifty-year-old truck. We stamp our cup sleeves by hand. We built our coffee units ourselves.
That hands-on approach is exactly who we are. Heavenly Grounds isn’t just a business we run, it’s something we pour ourselves into, from the drinks we make to the way we welcome people at the counter.
We’re Abigail and Benjamin, the husband-and-wife team behind Heavenly Grounds Coffee Co. What began as Abigail’s dream of a welcoming coffeehouse became something we built together, guided by faith and shaped by hard work.
Today, we bring that same care to everyday coffee stops and celebrations across the Crystal Coast. Our goal is simple: serve great coffee, make people feel welcome, and build something that reflects the community we’re grateful to call home.
In 2017, while serving with Youth With A Mission and teaching English in Azerbaijan, Abigail began imagining a coffee shop of her own. A space where good coffee could bring people together and offer a little peace in a busy world.
Back home in Minnesota, she followed that interest into a local coffeehouse. What began behind the espresso machine grew into a management role at BridgeHouse Coffee, where she developed her craft and learned what it takes to create an experience people return to.
The dream stayed with her. Someday, she would build a place of her own.
A Dream That Took Root Overseas
Built Together
Abigail and Benjamin first knew each other through youth group. Long before Heavenly Grounds had a name or a trailer.
Benjamin knew her vision and believed in it.
After eloping in 2022, they purchased an empty cargo trailer and began turning that vision into something tangible. Together, they transformed it into a mobile coffeehouse, handcrafting the details and building a business around the things they valued most.
Quality, hospitality, and community.
Their faith has shaped every step. Through challenges, unexpected opportunities, and the encouragement of people along the way, they have seen God’s guidance in the journey.
Heavenly Grounds is the result of that shared commitment, and
plenty of hands-on work.
A Coffeehouse Experience, Wherever You Gather
Today, our trailer and coffee cart bring Heavenly Grounds to everyday stops and special occasions throughout the Crystal Coast and surrounding Eastern North Carolina communities.
You’ll find us serving Marines and contractors at MCAS Cherry Point and Fleet Readiness Centers, welcoming customers at local markets, and bringing coffee to weddings, corporate gatherings, school events, and private celebrations.
Whether you’re stopping by for your ‘usual’ or inviting us to serve your guests, our approach stays the same: carefully crafted drinks, a warm welcome, and an experience that feels personal.
The personal touches are part of who we are. We drive an old truck, stamp our own cup sleeves by hand, and pour ourselves into the details because this business is an extension of us. From the trailer we built together to the drinks we hand across the counter, we want Heavenly Grounds to feel thoughtful, genuine, and unmistakably ours.
We’re building more than a business. We’re putting our faith, creativity, and hard work into something we’re proud to share, and the people we serve make that work meaningful. We proudly serve coffee roasted by The Muse Coffee Company, whose early support helped bring Heavenly Grounds to life. We’re grateful for a partnership rooted in quality, generosity, and shared faith.
Our long-term dream is a permanent Heavenly Grounds coffee shop. A place where the Crystal Coast can gather every day.
The trailer and cart are not simply steps toward that future. They are how we build it. One conversation, one event, and one familiar face at a time. Every visit, booking, and bag of our signature coffee helps move that vision forward. We’re grateful to be building something in this community, with this community.
Thank you for being part of our story!
